1st year they had their own show at the West Bent Country Club that lead up to performing right before Chris Botti and Down to the Bone at the prestigious Kettle Moraine Jazz Festival in West Bend, WI where they received a double standing ovation (very unheard of at this festival). They also performed in Milwaukee, WI at Summerfest that year and at the infamous Jazz in the Park, during Milwaukee, WI’s Bastille Days; opening up for world renowned Alex Bugnon. Fell Boyzs were also asked to open up the inaugural weekly music series, Smooth Summer Saturday Night. This is also the year they released their 1st CD, ConcreteDogBicycle; named after their personal recording studio, ConcreteDogBicycle Recording Studios
2005 found the Fell Boyzs back at Summerfest (right before Daryl Streumer, guitarist for Genesis) Bastille Days and Smooth Summer Saturday Night and nominated in 3 categories for the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) awards. They were nominated for 1) Best New Group, 2) Best Contemporary Jazz Group and 3) Best Song of the Year (Samba de Beef).
In 2006, Fell Boyzs ventured out of Wisconsin to Bethlehem, PA (on the east side of the state) and performed to a packed audience and roaring applause at MusikFest! They also returned to Jazz in the Park as a headliner to 6000+ audience members (one of the biggest on record) and had the crowd up on their feet dancing from the end of the 1st through the end of the 2nd set. They won their 1st WAMI award this year for Best Contemporary Jazz Group.
2007, Fell Boyzs ventured once again to Pennsylvania, but this time as a headliner for SummerSounds in Greensburg, PA to a crowd that was energized from the 1st downbeat to the last note of the last song! They also traveled to Lafayette, IN to perform at Taste of Tippecanoe where they performed right before the Pastorius brothers (yes, the sons of the late great Jaco Pastorius) with their group, Way of the Groove. They were also asked to perform twice at 1st Fridays in Racine, WI as headliners for both instances. At the end of the summer season, they performed at VinoFest in Hartland, WI.
In 2008, Fell Boyzs slowed down a bit to concentrate on working and finished their 2nd full length CD,Through These Eyes; but still traveled out for a repeat performance again at the Taste of Tippecanoe in Lafayette, IN, performing right before one of the Pastorius brothers with his other group, Bendy Pastorius Group. They were also asked back to perform at 1st Fridays in Racine, WI and VinoFest in Hartland, WI. Fell Boyzs where nominated once again for a WAMI award for Best Contemporary Jazz Group.
